Season 2 (blue): Learn about the institutions involved in global governance. I take a critical view of the ideology motivating international institutions and challenge the audience’s preconceptions as to what can be achieved by global cooperation and institutional structures. Join me in this journey and let me know what you think!
The first episode in the series introduces the concept and field of study. It explains the interaction between law and economics and how it is reflected in international institutions (like the World Bank, the IMF, the WTO etc) who are engaged in global economic organization. The second episode answers the question why so many people hate the IMF. This episode explains what it is, what it does, how it does it and critiques the consequences of its actions. The third episode presents the World Bank and the role it plays in poverty alleviation and international development, with special focus on legal technical assistance.
